Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

PRP procedures can be provided to address desired collagen formation, or the formation of new blood vessels, specifically to rejuvenate hair follicles that have entered the telogen phase and resulted in hair loss for either men or women.  Please schedule a visit to see how PRP may be the treatment for you or a family member with hair loss.

Considered by many to be a “new frontier” of non-surgical, regenerative therapy, PRP can be used in the treatment of musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions, resulting from injury, overuse, or moderate degenerative conditions.

What is PRP / How Does PRP Work?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a concentrated sample of your own blood, composed primarily of high levels of platelets. Platelets are a critical component of the wound healing process.  PRP is safe as it utilizes your own blood, and is insulated against the risk of disease transmission and inflammatory immune responses.  While study results continue to be very promising, Family Wellness at Willow Bend is judicious to make claims for restoration and rejuvenation. There will consistently be some degree of restoration, though results vary by patient and, like all medical treatments.

How is the Procedure Performed?

Blood is drawn in the office, processed, and injected into the desired area for rejuvenation.  Local anesthetic is used, and patients are able to drive home at the end of the treatment, as no sedation is used during the procedure.  Procedures are typically performed every 3 or 4 months to achieve the initial results, then semi-annually or annually for maintenance.

How Much Does PRP Cost?

Treatments vary in cost from $900.00 to $1,200.00 per treatment, based on compelxity.  Packaged treatments are available at a discounted rate.  Please call about current promotions or specials.
