Community Involvement

Dr. Wiener is passionate about being involved within her community, especially working in  pediatrics at Pediatric Offices at Willow Bend. Her involvement includes, but is not limited to, working with local youth, future doctors and nurses, as well as community groups and outreach programs. She is deeply committed to making a positive impact on the life of her staff, patients, students and community.

Dr. Wiener is the pediatrician for Hope’s Door and a newly named member of its board of directors. The doctor’s office sponsors an annual Fall Festival for the community which is held to raise funds for Hope’s Door. Hope’s Door offers safety, shelter, healing, and hope to individuals and families affected by domestic violence.  You can learn more on their website http://www.hopesdoorinc.org/.

In addition to her work with Hope’s Door, Dr. Wiener contributes time to the students of the Plano high school system as they learn more about careers in medicine. Students come and rotate with the nurses at POWB, seeing patients and observing Dr. Wiener’s interactions with patients. She is also on staff at UT Southwestern Medical School and mentors medical students in the office monthly. This gives the medical students a picture of private practice pediatrics and is also an opportunity for the students to see what it takes to be a meaningful provider in the community.
